Our sailing lessons are designed for people of all ages and interests. Whether you're a complete beginner or someone considering buying a boat, our experienced captains are there to guide and improve your understanding of sailing and boat ownership. You decide what you want to learn and we'll teach you. If you choose, you’ll tie knots, learn basic terminology, practice hoisting and trimming the sails, and also do some steering with your captain standing close by.

WHAT IF THE WEATHER ISN’T COOPERATING AND I WANT TO CANCEL?

SOMETHING CAME UP AT THE LAST MINUTE AND I CAN’T MAKE IT. WILL YOU GIVE ME A REFUND?
It depends on the situation. We’re reasonable people but we won’t be taken advantage of. Last minute cancellations also affect other guests who otherwise could have used the time for their adventure.
WHAT SHOULD I WEAR?
Bring a jacket if you like. Typically, the sun and exertion will keep you warm.
FOOTWEAR?
The Captain prefers to go barefoot but that's up to you to decide for yourself. Please, no flip-flops, heels, or platform shoes.
DO YOU HAVE A WEIGHT LIMIT?
Nope! But if you’re concerned about your health and safety, please keep in mind that you‘ll have to climb into (and out of) the boat. Also, in some conditions there are times where guests feel more comfortable bracing themselves while underway.
DO YOU HAVE AN AGE LIMIT?
Nope! Well behaved, able-bodied passengers of all ages are welcome.
CAN I PRACTICE DOCKING THE BOAT?
Unfortunately, no. Docking is one of the most challenging parts of boating and this lesson is intended to be introductory, not comprehensive.

HOW FAR IN ADVANCE DO I HAVE TO BOOK?
We recommend planning your trip as far in advance as possible. While same day reservations are occasionally available, we can’t guarantee that we will have the capacity to accommodate your group.
ARE WE ALLOWED TO BRING OUR OWN DRINKS (BYOB)?
For other experiences yes, but not for lessons.
SMOKING ON THE BOAT?
We are smoke-free (also vape-free) with the exception of our Cigars & Sunset experience.
WHERE DO I PARK?
We recommend parking in the Wolverine Park Marina parking lot. Walk towards the water and down the stairs. Wait at the base of the stairs for one of our crew to greet you at the time of your scheduled adventure.
