frequently asked questions.

What if the weather isn’t cooperating and I want to cancel?

Book your sailing adventure months in advance without worrying about the weather. We feature a 100% money-back guarantee. After all, it’s important to us that you have a pleasant experience.

Something came up at the last minute and I can’t make it. Will you give me a refund?

It depends on the situation. We’re reasonable people but we won’t be taken advantage of. Last minute cancellations also affect other guests who otherwise could have used the time for their adventure.

Can you accommodate guests in wheelchairs or the disabled?

Unfortunately, no. Neither the boat nor the experience are very forgiving in this regard.

What footwear shall I wear?

I prefer to go barefoot but that's up to you to decide for yourself. Please, no flip-flops, heels, or platform shoes (yep, we've had all three).

Are we allowed to bring our own drinks (BYOB)?

Sure! Please avoid red wines as they stain the boat. We will still have our usual beverages on hand in case of emergency :-)

Do you allow smoking on the boat?

We are a smoke-free vessel (also vape-free).

We want to book a bed & breakfast or hotel. Will you offer package deals?

Yes. Our friends at Spencer House Bed & Breakfast are currently offering a package deal. If you’re the kind of person who enjoys staying in cool 1876 mansions hosted by good people who serve good food, this is the place for you.

I get carsick or seasick. Is this adventure for me?

We want everyone to have a good time. You know yourself better than we do. Trust your judgement. Captain Scott does often get car sick and has no problem at all sailing. Most people who get sick easily are fine as long as they don’t go below deck. We recommend candied ginger which is an old sailor’s cure. It works better than all other remedies. MythBusters has an episode on seasickness and they agree. Ultimately, the decision is yours and we can’t be responsible for your decisions if they turn out to be bad ones.

Tell us more about the boat…

The boat is a 2007 Beneteau 323. It’s built for cruising and comfort. She’s got long lines and beautiful curves. We’ve created this page so you can better visualize your sailing adventure which includes video tours of the interior/exterior.

We’re at Waldameer Park or Presque Isle State Park. Is it easy to find you from there?

Everything in Erie is easily reachable in 15 minutes or less and we’re no exception. Simply follow Eighth Street (heading East) and turn left onto the Bayfront Highway. Then, turn left onto State Street and then immediately left into Wolverine Park Marina. Though, you must book your charter online in order to secure your adventure.

Will you teach me how to sail over several days?

Yes! Click the book now button for details.

Will you offer multi-day, long distance lake sails?

We plan to in the future. Sign up here to receive updates on this.

There are more than six of us. Why can’t we book an adventure?

The US Coast Guard doesn’t allow this for our classification of vessel. We wish we could accommodate you with an exception, but we simply can’t. No exceptions.

Where can I buy some of these great photographs?

Gibbons Creative, is a professional Erie photographer, and local amateur photographers Dean Zeller and Clayton-Johns Sparky have some amazing shots of Erie and Presque Isle. Please support our local artists!
